On Adventure and Silver Awards

As County Commissioner of Solihull I am often asked to present awards and speak at County events. In the early days I would fly by the seat of my pants quickly learning that good public speaking needs a clearer message than can be delivered through the medium of umm’s and stagnant pauses as I think about what to say next and I now plan in advance.

Spring Microadventure

It had been awhile since we’d trundled off with hammocks and bicycles for a single night micro adventure under the stars and given that the weather forecast was looking good and the fact my roof rack complete with large desktop had launched itself from the roof of the car (while driving down the M5) on Friday night we decided a trip down the towpath was in order.

Solihull County Camp 2014

At the first County Exec of 2014 last night Paul our camp leader unveiled the plans so far to the meeting. I’m pleased to say it’s looking really good. Not only are we on a site inside the County, but the beginnings of the programme are looking awesome, with plenty for everyone to do.

To Absent Friends

Sometimes your friends can ask you to some really really silly things, but you just can’t help yourself and for some reason find your way to an empty Jamboree campsite with 10 other crazy folk for over a week of non-stop adventures.
