Tales from the world of Birmingham Underground Arts and Scout Gangshows

Gangshow, Oh Gangshow

Well it’s arrived already!  The hotly anticipated (tongue firmly in cheek you understand) East Birmingham Gangshow.  Today we spent what felt like an eternity transforming an unassuming school hall into the stage for the show.  The caretaker actually commented that she never sees that much stuff in the hall or the hall being that tidy.

I’ll be spending the next week standing in my favorite place, behind the sound console.  I don’t get to be sound engineer very often as everyone assumes I’m a lighting guy when in fact I’m a bit multipurpose me.

Anyway you can still get tickets if you fancy a nice night out.

Oh How I Love Jazz

I’ve been getting back into my jazz recently especially because of the eJazzNews sampler (http://www.ejazznews.com/ejnsampler/)  I’ve been going through a heavy electronic music phase the last year, and it’s refreshing to kick back with a cup of coffee and a cuban cigar over a hearty groove.

Music Is Not Pollution

I’m reposting this as part of the ProjectXPresents collectives effort to raise some awareness of the issues being caused by the carelessness of developers, and the callousness of council environmental health officers.

The skinny is on the PXP blog here

Inner Circle Photography Project

This is currently on display on the middle floor of the Mailbox underneath the escalators, pretty cool but stashed away where no one might find it.
